About us

Welcome to Langley Vale Pre School

Once called Epsom Downs Playgroup, we have been running from Langley Vale Village Hall for 50 years and previous to that a house in Rosebery road. We are a community Pre-School and are partly funded by Surrey County Council, partly funded by charging fees and by fundraising.

Our Pre-School is a registered charity and is run by a voluntary management committee of parents whose children attend our setting.

We are committed to offering affordable priced, high quality Early Years Education and care for the children and their families from Langley Vale and thee surrounding areas.

Daily play based and planned activities

We are an ELKLAN level 3 in supporting language and learning for 3 to 5 year old trained setting and an Early Talk Boost Trained setting.

ELKLAN makes a real difference in the way we engage with children and young people so that they can achieve their fullest potential. Our level 3 ELKLAN helps us to provide information & strategies to develop the communication skills of all young children but especially those with speech, language & communication needs.

Elklan

Early Talk Boost is a targeted intervention aimed at 3-4 year old children who need help with talking and understanding words, helping to boost their language skills to narrow the gap between them and their peers. The programme aims to accelerate children’s progress in language and communication by an average of 6 months, after a nine week intervention.
Children who are selected to take part in the intervention will attend three sessions per week during circle/story time, each lasting 15-20 minutes delivered by an early years practitioner. The sessions include activities that cover the foundation skills in speech, language and communication that children need for learning and understanding new words, as well as having conversations.

Our Day

9am – self registration

9am – free play/activities

9.30am – circle time

9.40am – milk bar

9.50am – free play/activities

10.45am – tidy up time

11am – outdoor play or large play equipment inside

11.50am – story time/music and movement

12pm – home time

(during the warmer weather we spend most of the morning in the garden area)

We offer full morning nursery sessions 9.00am – 12.00pm Term time only

We support children 2 – 5 years of age, using the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
